Veterans Day Ceremony

A Veterans Day ceremony will be conducted by the American Legion on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Veterans Park, at the intersections of South Railroad Street, Church Street and Union Street in the village of Parish. The public is welcome to attend this ceremony.


The Parish Town Board is accepting letters of interest and or resumes for the vacancy on the Parish Joint Planning Board. The position begins on January 1, 2015 and expires on 12/31/2019 and is a five year term.

Requirements for the position are attendance at all Planning Board Meetings, participation with other Board Members for consideration of site plans, subdivisions zoning, and other related issues. The Planning Board meets the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at 2938 E. Main Street, Parish, NY in the Village Gym unless otherwise specified. There are four hours of training required for the Parish Planning Board each year.

Please send all letters of interest and or resumes to Kelly Reader, Parish Town Clerk, PO Box 66, Parish, NY 13131. Letters of interest and or resumes must be delivered to the Clerk by November 19th, 2014 no later than 4:00 p.m.


The Parish Town Board is accepting letters of interest and or resumes for the vacancy on the Parish Zoning Boards of Appeals. The position begins on January 1st, 2015 and expires on December 31st, 2019.

Requirements for the position are attendance to all Zoning Boards of Appeals Meetings, participation with other Board Members for consideration of variances and other related issues. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on an as needed basis and meets at 2938 E. Main Street, Parish, NY in the Village Gym. There are four hours of training required for the Zoning Board of Appeals position each year.

The Parish Town Board is advertising for a vacancy on the Assessment Board of Review. The term is a five year term and the term begins October 1st, 2014 and expires September 30th, 2019. Assessment Board of Review Members are expected to attend classes offered annually regarding the grievance process.

The responsibilities of an Assessment Board of Review Member is to attend Grievance Procedure on the 4th Tuesday in May and hear all grievance complaints brought before the Board to determine if the assessment should be changed.

All letters of interest and or resumes should be submitted to Kelly Reader, Parish Town Clerk, PO Box 66, Parish, NY 13131 by October 15th, 2014 no later than 4:00 p.m.

The next joint meeting of the Parish Town and Village Boards is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York.


The Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2012 for the Town of Parish is on file in the Parish Town Clerk’s Office located at 2938 E. Main Street, Parish NY in the Village Gym. The Financial Report is available during regular business hours for inspection.

The next regular meeting of the Parish Town and Village Planning Board is scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish.
